It was a great night at The Broad Chare (sold out) on Sunday 21st just gone. Our new Hybrid American Amber “Crime Scene” was introduced to kick things off followed by an evening of some fantastic food, paired with beers from our range. Yep, Thursday 14th March 2013 we picked up a Silver at this years National SIBA BeerX kegged beer competition. ANARCHY LAGER got the medal in the “Speciality Beer” category and we were well pleased with the result. Keep your eyes out later in the year for an “unfiltered” version.

It gives us great pleasure to announce another Brewery event – MASH UP FESTIVAL 2013 (craft beer & music) On Saturday 31st August from 12 noon things kick off, with 16 bands from the North East, food vendors, merchandise, DJ sets, PLUS>> Craft beers from some of the best breweries around the country (list to be announced soon), V.I.P tent, etc.. and overnight camping. Tickets £15 and the option to camp over for £2.50 per person.  

Find us on the bar at The Free Trade Inn this Saturday (23rd Feb) with our new unnamed Wheat Beer, developed especially for our good friend Phil Hodgson. Well, Phil asked us some time ago to make him a birthday beer, and he specified a Wheat Beer. It had to be 5.5% abv (he is turning 55 years this week) and this sounded just like a project we wanted to get our teeth stuck into, especially as we were looking …

“Quiet Riot” 6.6% South Pacific IPA, fruity, very bitter, great mouthfeel. Natural, unfined. Release date: Thursday 31st January (evening) Venue: Lady Grey’s, Shakespeare St, Newcastle.  

“Smoke Bomb” – 3.9% dark, smoke malt, hoppy and a big mouthfeel. Natural & unfined. Release date: Friday 01st February (evening) Venue: Tilley’s Bar, Westgate Rd, Newcastle. Come along and try.

Due out of the brewery soon will be the first of our many natural beers; Quiet Riot, an IPA at 6.6% abv made with South Pacific hops and specialty malts. Unfined and natural, this beer has a great mouth feel with beautiful aromas of mango, guava and a huge tropical fruit punch on the palate. The natural way contributes massively to those attributes just mentioned, and to be honest looks so interesting too in the glass (single stem brandy styled). …
